After using Air Gear’s AIRloq keyless entry door lock for specific airstream models, here’s my review: It’s super handy to leave the campsite with the electronic door lock installed. You don’t need a key to lock it—just press a button, and it locks right up! When you get back to camp, simply punch in the code to unlock it. And no app on your phone either. Inside, there’s a thumb latch that works just like the original one. The build quality is great, and it’s been working perfectly without any issues after a lot of use. If the battery ever fails, you can use the provided key to open it. Plus, there’s a mini connection port so you can use a battery pack to energize it. Punch in the code. Lock opens. Another advantage to having an electronic lock is for example, should you inadvertently leave camp forgetting to retract the electric awning or some other senior moment. Just call a camp mate the code to open the lock and take care of the issue. Lock code is programmable and easily changed. Installation is a snap. Remove the OEM lock leaving the bolt in place, Install the electronic lock with provided hardware along with provided new door latch bumper. Install batteries. Program the lock code. Good to go! Just a heads-up: when you’re on the road, make sure both locks are engaged not just the electronic one. Check it out at the upcoming International 2026 rally in August!

AIRLoq keyless entry door lock for Airstream trailers 2008-2024

We were a beta site here in Tucson. Rich and Ken were amazing. They installed it, but we could have done it ourselves easily. We just took our rig out with this installed. First, it looks super cool - we love hardware and this looks robust and a little initimidating for casual observers. Second - it is easy to use. A single button locks the door. Sometimes we do have to put a little pressure on the door to engage, but that is standard for our door. A 4 digit number and the # key unlock the door. This sure beats waiting at the door for the partner who has the keys! Inside the deadbolt locks with an easy turning knob. Third - programming a new master code and a new door code is easy - the manual makes it really clear. The only little issue is we wish we had the black/black instead of the silver/white but we will remedy that with paint at some point. Not on the high priority list. I will note that when we bought the used 2023 International the dead bolt had been damaged and basically required a few shenanigans to get it to work - this was an issue for the installation of the Airloq. So...wonderful Rich supplied us with the resources to fix the deadbolt (a simple video and stuff we had at home). This allowed us to have the Airloq and have peace of mind on the door being secure. We love this and we are busy replacing our other door locks with same-keyed locks so our key fob is slowly shrinking - our biggest complaint about AirStream so far!! Thanks Rich and Ken for the opportunity to be a guinea pig for the product. We love it and think others will too!! It is vital to keeping those tiny arguments and lost key discussions out of what should be a vacation! Liz and John

AIRLoq keyless entry door lock for Airstream trailers 2008-2024

Received our new AirLoq in very short order and installed it yesterday. Installation was straight-forward with only a screwdriver required to complete. The instructions state it would be handy to have a 2nd person assist by holding the outside keypad in place while you install the inner mounting plate and screws. I didn't have anyone available when I wanted to get it installed, so I used some painter's tape to hold the keypad in place while I installed the screws through the inner mounting plate. This worked fine. Unlike the stock deadbolt which mounts with only two screws, the AirLoq is secured with four screws, each of which comes tipped with a thread-locker compound. Once that's done it is a simple process to mount the battery holder, plugging in the control wire and fastening it down with four more screws. Programming was straight-forward and accomplished in minutes. All told I think I spent about 15 minutes changing out the stock deadbolt and getting the AirLoq programmed. LIke the other AirGear upgrades we have installed, the AirLoq is well thought out, well made and a great improvement to the stock item it replaced.
