As the camping world grows larger and camping sites often more remote, the security of gear gathered carefully over time seems more an issue. To have these good looking locks instead of the universal-key locks just makes sense. They look sharp on the rear hatch and my stuff is safely locked up when I'm off hiking.

Easy install, when installing, mine came with a different bolt to remove, that's ok, but when installing, you have to adjust the tightness, so the lock portion is flush, but unfortunately, the one latch does not sit as flush as the other side. Not sure if that is normal. They look nice.

I went for these locks primarily as an upgrade aesthetically. Unfortunately they don't seem to close as easily. It took a number of tries to get the adjustment right to balance the door being tightly shut and being able to snap the lever down and engage with the lock. The OEM locks worked much smoother. Maybe there more refinement needed with my final adjustments or a break-in period.
Having a more unique key than 99% of the population has out there is a huge plus also. But I still have too many keys!!! I just hate how many keys are needed overall. I really wish Airstream could come up with one unique key for the rig that opens everything.
In closing - they do look good and more secure (using a unique key).

Easy to install after the first one. I installed 6 total locks and made all the adjustments in about 45 minutes. Locks look really good. I ended up having to use the locking arm from old locks because the arm that came with new locks was not long enough. I installed locks on a 2019 27’ FBT international with 3 lockers.

These locks are a necessary upgrade! They are sturdy and look great on the trailer! It is comforting to have one key for all the outdoor compartment locks (4), and to know that it is a unique key! The Air Gear service is the best, too! Responsive, helpful, and friendly!

The new chrome lock fit perfectly. Remember to save latch from replaced lock since new may not match, as was in my case. I suggest that you amend installation of machine screw with a 3/4" OD fender washer for stiffer install against thin gauge aluminum door panel.

I like knowing that not everyone that owns an Airstream has the same key to the rear compartment that I do. They were easy to install, and have nice solid and secure feel to them. They also look much nicer than the stock locks.

These are very nice, look fantastic and I like having a different key. The only issue is that they can be a bit tricky to close, i.e. the latch doesn't always clear the key hole easily. A bit of wiggling can be necessary. Never had this issue with the originals.

Easy assembly, nice looking, works great. Full disclosure, unlike the original equipment, the replacement is bright and shiny so if you have greasy fingers after stowing your tools you may need to do some polishing (or not).

I ordered 3 chrome locks for my new pottery barn AS mainly because I liked the idea of having different locks than everyone else and, chrome, why not.
Once I got them I realized I have three storage units and each unit has 2 locks so I only ordered 1/2 of what was needed. Air Gear didn’t have three more locks with matching keys in stock so we’re nice enough to let me return the three I got for 6. Very easy to install and looks great and the keys don’t stick like the factory ones.

This lock looks nice, and the added security is a plus. But beware, you’ll need to keep the piece from your old lock that goes behind the storage door and holds it shut, because the piece provided with this replacement is not long enough to catch. A funny oversight for a lock made for this purpose…just don’t throw anything away before installing this.

This was a top shelf , excellent experience with Air Gear. We discovered these locks about a week before we were leaving to travel 1400 miles to Tallahassee to get the airstream ceramic glass coated at Vinnie’s in Florida. We wanted them on before that coating happened.
Outstanding customer service and extra effort by Air Gear got us those locks in Minn from New Mexico in only 2 days . We installed them in time and they are now part of our ceramic glass coating !

Very easy install to replace the factory latches. I didn't love the fact that everyone had the same key for these Airstream storage doors as we keep expensive equipment in these areas. I also didn't like the fact that the factory latches could be stubborn to unlock at the most inopportune times. These replacements work flawlessly every time!

Easy to install. Had two locks installed in less than ten minutes. They appear to be well manufactured. I like the nice chrome finish rather than the original black. You can easily adjust the lock latches by adjust the nut on bottom side of latch to get a snug fit when closed.
