What's in your campground water?
Depending on where you travel, the ground water can contain anything from sand particles and hydrogen sulfide to bacterial microbes. All of these contribute to poor quality taste, and some even have health impacts.
We've tested several water filtration systems over the years but the size, weight, and set up was a pain so we ditched them. And, the cheap in-line charcoal filters you'll find at RV stores can't deliver serious water purity.

What's included in the Blu Technology systems
1. A complete 2-stage or 3-stage water filtration system
The AR2 is a 2-stage RV/Campground water filter system with the 0.2 Micron High Flow Filter* and the Carbon Charcoal/Coconut Shell “TASTY” Filter.
The AR3 adds the Sediment “LONGEVITY” Filter, which makes the filters last longer and reduces the frequency of filter changes.
2. Carry bag
The custom carry bag protects the unit from scratches, and has an extra pocket for water accessories. The system can be used while it is in the bag, so you don't have to remove it.
3. Water hose quick connects
Made of stainless steel, the quick connects allow you to "snap on" your water hoses to the filtration system in just a second.
4. Filter housing key
A handy tool that lets you easily loosen the filter housing rings to change the filters.
5. First set of filters
The Blu Technology system comes with filters already installed in the stainless steel canisters. The Granular Activated Carbon Coconut Shell "TASTY” Filter will be in the canister by the inlet, and the 0.2 Micron High Flow Filter will be in the canister by the outlet. (AR3 includes Longevity filter pre-installed too).
Replacement filters are available from AIR GEAR.

We used the 2-filter Blu Tech R2 for a three week trip and loved it. In fact, we loved it so much that we gifted it to our neighbor who camps in a converted Sprinter van and just received our R3 unit from AirGear. We started using the Blu Tech R3 Elite water filter a week ago and have been impressed. We were using a competitive three-filter system but the size and weight of the R3 Elite was too attractive to pass up. And, we were not disappointed because it takes so much less room and weighs significantly less than the former product. The water tastes great and we even decided to forgo our Berkey and drink directly from the tap. We are currently on shore water but just sanitized our fresh water tank so would be comfortable drinking from the fresh water tank, as well.

This water filter has made all the difference in our camping. My partner is extremely picky about the taste of water. Before getting this filter, we were loading several gallon jugs of water from home for every trip. Now she is content with the filtered water for coffee and water bottles and no more packing gallon jugs.
Perfect size and stability.
We purchased the Blu Tech R3 Elite and had an opportunity to use it, for the first time, this weekend. When preparing for the trip, the R3 fit into our front storage compartment with ease. Hook up and use were extremely easy. The water tasted great! As expected, the water pressure was a little lower than our previous filter (single cartridge) but it did not interfere with the operation of our on-demand hot water heater. We are happy with our purchase and look forward to using the R3 throughout the rest of our camping adventures.

Since I live in northern Ohio, I have not been camping with it yet. However, I did connect it to my well-driven water supply system for my house. I do use a 10 micron whole house water filter on the house. However, the Blu Tech 3 system still removed smaller particles and enhanced the "taste" of the water - more "sterile" tasting. I only gave it 4 stars, since there is a drop in water flow - which was not surprising - since the filters are very short - not a lot of surface area for filtering. However, the "size" of the unit was one of the primary factors in the purchasing decision - since it occupies much less space - making it easier to transport and handle (for setup and tear downs). It is a little pricey, but I still feel it is worth the investment. My plan is to no longer travel with bottled water - which was only used for making the wife's coffee throughout the day. I do not like the taste of bottled water - so I virtually never drink it. I always just used the house water to fill the fresh water tank in my Airstream. And, I am sure my dogs will appreciate it as well - since they do not like the bottled water either.
