Since late 2025, we've been talking about the incredible advantages of power stations for off-grid camping. If power stations are new to you, or you aren't sure how you'd use one when you're camping away from hookups, we recently dropped this educational video:
For the last 17 months, Tothie and I have been traveling with the Sorein Power Station, which has an easy-to-use modular design and great RV-friendly features. It's changed the way we camp, and changed the game for many of our customers, too.
Now we're excited to introduce the second generation of this product, which has been re-engineered to be even more powerful and user friendly for RVers. This second-generation product isn't just the latest technology from the manufacturer. It's an exclusive collaboration with us, which is why we're calling it the AIR GEAR x Sorein Power Station.
With this generation, we've upped all the key features. Here's an overview.
Higher inverter output
The built-in inverter in the first generation can produce up to 2,200 Watts continuously, which is enough to run any plug-in appliance in an RV, even the air conditioner or microwave. (It's more powerful than a typical "2200 Watt" gas generator.)
With the 2nd generation, the inverter can handle up to 3,300 Watts continuously. That's enough to run your microwave and toaster at the same time and still have some capacity left over!
In practical terms, this means you don't have to worry about overloading the inverter when you fire up an air conditioner. The new inverter can handle a surge of up to 6,500 Watts, which is more than you'll need for any RV air conditioner.
Higher capacity batteries
The Battery Modules in the first generation are rated at 2.1 kWh—and that's a lot. With improved battery cells, we've been able to get the second generation up to 2.4 kWh, without increasing the size, weight, or cost.
Lightweight Control Unit
In the second-generation system, the batteries are always separate modules. There's no battery in the Control Unit that manages all the other modules.
This design change allows us to have a lightweight and more powerful Control Unit. It's easier to handle, at just 18 pounds. Also, since it doesn't contain a battery, it can be returned to AIR GEAR for replacement or service, if that's ever needed.
Everything is compatible with the previous generation system
Got a Sorein already? No worries, everything from the first generation and second generation is compatible. You can mix and match batteries, inverters, and carts as you wish.
That means you can upgrade a first-generation Sorein Power Station to all the capabilities of the current generation.
Feel free to add an Extra Inverter to get 3,300 Watt output, or put a new 2.4 kWh battery in your existing battery stack. It just works—no work-arounds or re-programming needed. (We don't like obsolescence any more than you do!)
Nearly limitless expansion capacity for RV or home use
Did you know an AIR GEAR x Sorein Power Station can be used to back up your home? It's a feature we haven't talked about much until now.
Here's the secret: A single AIR GEAR x Sorein power station can be expanded to whopping 55 kWh of batteries (that's 23 batteries!), with the magic of the new Sorein Connection Cable. That's an enormous amount of power, which you can still break down to individual modules when you want to move the system or take some of it on the road.
We should have the Connection Cable in stock in a few weeks, and we'll post images of how it works. Your Sorein Power Station is already prepped for the cable—just plug it in!
US-based support and warranty, from RV owners like you
If you buy a power station from Amazon, good luck getting anyone to answer your questions. Usually "support" is limited to returns and refunds. And if you buy a power station from another brand, you may find someone to take your call, but they won't know much (if anything) about RV situations.
Buying a power station from AIR GEAR is different:

Power stations are the best way to expand your power bank
This isn't new, but worth repeating: The most economical and convenient way to add battery power to your RV is with a large power station. You'll save a ton of money compared to a custom battery installation, and you'll never have to haul gas or deal with fumes from a generator.
Power stations are getting better all the time, and the new AIR GEAR x Sorein system is, we believe, the best option on the market for RV owners.
