The AIR GEAR Sun Shade is built to last and developed with improvements from our personal experience with other similar sun shade products.
We've included a high quality, UV-resistant fabric, stainless steel snaps, brass grommets, and a custom carry bag. We also include a custom anchoring kit–which is more effective for securing the shade on windy days, and includes safety orange bungee cords and heavy-duty sand bags. We designed this product to be the best on the market.
The AIR GEAR Sun Shade installs onto the Zip Dee awning roller or most other brands of metal awning rollers. After a one-time installation of snap backs, simply snap the Sun Shade onto the awning roller when you need it, and snap it off and store it when you don't.
NOTE: The AIR GEAR Sun Shade is not designed for use on an "road side" awning roller (the smaller awning on the opposite side of the patio awning). It's designed for use on a large metal awning roller.

Height is 69", which is suitable for all Airstream trailers with Zip Dee awnings, and most other brands of trailer awnings with metal roller tubes.
Does not fit 16-foot Airstream trailers. Not compatible with Airstream motorhomes or Basecamps.
Easy, one-time snap installation
Installation is easy using the snaps and rivets provided. All you need is a cordless drill with a 9/64" drill bit and a rivet tool. Complete instructions are included with the Sun Shade.
Once the snaps are installed, simply snap on the AIR GEAR Sun Shade when you need it and snap it off before pulling in your awning.

The sunscreen was very easy to install, and the kit came with all the snaps and rivets that I needed. Also the video was very helpful 😃😀
Ok. I used my AirGear rivet gun to install my AirGear sunshade and I locked the awesome carrying case in my rear compartment secured with my chrome AirGear replacement locks. I locked up that compartment with my unique keys from AirGear, before my wife and I walked across our AirGear CMat to go out for dinner. No need to worry about getting locked out because we had our spare AirGear door and deadbolt keys in a lockbox secured in our propane compartment. When I cleaned up later, I showered on our AirGeak teak shower mat. Yeah, Rich and Tothie do all the legwork for us, and curate a nice collection that saves us time and helps us with awesome blog posts and videos. Tomorrow, I have so much time, I may do a little work with my AirGear maintenance kits. Buy their stuff; you won’t regret it, and the sale supports good people doing good work on behalf of Airstreamers. FYI, I bought the large shade and started the install on the valance at the far end from the door on my Flying Cloud 28RBT, then worked back. I was left with an opening opposite the door, and framed by the awning arm. Made sense to us!
I used the sun screen for the first time today. It was a snap to install and sitting outdoors was very nice, given the shade we needed. It looks great, was simple to install and take down, and very well made. Looking forward to using it on our way to Alumapalooza 14 and beyond. Thanks for a great product. Easy to install and what a difference it makes temperature wise.
A 10’ Sun Shade installed on our 25’ FC. It was a very easy installation and easy to bring along with the included mesh bag. I used some cut 2x12’s to put flat inside the hold down bags and they worked well for us. Held out the bottom edge really well and they would slide if a dogs lead got caught on the bungee cord. It was cooler behind the Sun Shade! Thank you for a great product! (Purchased in 11/23, installed 4/24)

Near the end of last summer, we planned to purchase a new ground rug and fence to give us more room on camp-side and more freedom for our two dogs. After dealing with a couple of trips with the sun running us off the campside, the sunscreen was the answer. Love that we can use it when needed or unsnap when not. Also gives a little privacy for snoopy onlookers (campground rubber-neckers). Easy to install with a quality rivet tool and drill. Packs down light and small. My only suggestion would be a larger carry bag to allow various folding and storage options. I do not like packing and folding the screen and rug along the same folds every time. Would be nice to vary the fold to avoid permanent folds or cracks in the fabric.
This is nice quality and installation was so easy.
We ordered the Sunscreen because we were camping in Zion National Park for 3 months as campground hosts. Temperatures in the canyon can and do hit 100 degrees with little to no cloud cover. The Sunscreen made a big difference in comfort.
This is a great accessory for our Airstream! It has made all the difference in enjoying our outdoor space in sunny locations. The YouTube video made it very easy to follow the directions & we had it up in about 30 min or less. The storage bag is nice for stowing when we don’t need it.
Shade screen was easy to install. Worked as advertised. Will now help keep our Airstream cool on very sunny days.
I love this shade! Great quality and such thoughtful touches. The storage bag is heavy duty and high quality. The weighted "anchor" bags to hold down the screen during a breeze are such a thoughtful touch (btw, I put a heavy shoe in mine instead of sand; someone else suggested a gallon water jug). I installed it while out camping with NorCal friends last weekend and installation was just as easy as the helpful video promised… I had already scoped things out, and when my rivet gun buddy arrived it took 30min start-to-finish. (BTW – if you have clamps, I clamped mine to the valance for placement confirmation – left it up overnight just to get the feel of things. That was a handy way to test-drive it.). I love the privacy it creates… just that extra little layer, almost like a screened porch in my native South. This screen is a real score --- great design, easy install, high-quality materials with thoughtful touches. A+, AirGear
Terrific! This is the 15' SunShade on our 30' International. We installed at a campground, because we must store our camper away from home. Took only a short time to install. I am tall, so relatively easy for me to measure, drill 9/64th hole, and use pop rivet gun. Measured 4' from front to start first snap so access to our door is not impaired. My wife did help when I first started to hold the other end to make sure there were no conflicts along the way. From there I did myself ... drilled hole, attached snap, measured, drilled again for a total of 6 snaps, etc. Came with needed snaps and rivets, 4 sandbags, 4 elastic snubbies to secure bottom, and ventilated cary case. We do not carry sand in Ohio, so we used 4 tent stakes we already had to secure the bottom vs sand bags. Seems well made, and it did screen the sun well.

What a great purchase….easy order…quick delivery….easy 30 minute install using Rich’s How to Video. Excellent quality, does a great job of blocking the sun but still allows air to pass thru.
While in my home town of Sierra Vista Az, I made a trip up to Tucson to pick up the sun shade in person vs shipping. Came in just before closing and was warmly welcomed while receiving great customer service. During the simple installation outlined in their very helpful video, I messed up one of the rivets while installing the last button snap. After inquiring about the rivet size, they offered to send me extras at no cost to me.. I declined as I was able to obtain replacements locally. The sun shade is awesome. Paired with Nite ize Can Jam Rope tighteners and the included tent stakes, the product seems very secure and provides great shade while obtaining air flow. Thanks Airstream Life, y’all are awesome!

Easy to install. It took us 45 mins but we can't add! I have a FC 25FBQ. I ordered the 15/6 - and am really glad I did. It fits the length of the awning. This is a game changer for camping!

This shade cover was quite easy to put up if you have a drill, rivet gun, and a step stool. Rich’s video was spot on. Took about 30 minutes. It helped that there were two of us so hubby didn’t have to get up and down to switch tools.
After cooking in the sun at a beautiful spot near Asheville NC, I was thrilled that the Airstream Life Store offered this solution from Zip Dee. The installation was easier than I thought it would be - watch the video on the ALS website before starting for great tips. Now that it’s installed, it goes on and off easily and packs away nicely. Great product that I expect to use a lot in our travels!

Shade came with one grommet missing on the shade. Called Airgear, they sent out a replacement next day! EXCELLENT customer service. Now, the replacement shade did not have the same rivet positioning as the first one, so make sure everything is good before installing it. They really should use a jig for standard rivet positioning on the production line.

Our rig is currently set up with the afternoon sun hitting us for an extended period on our awning side. Spending time on the deck use to require sunglasses and a need for lots of sunscreen. This was a game changer! Had it installed in under 30 minutes. The added benefit of keeping the sun off of the side of the AS also means lower temperature inside and easier on our AC unit. Highly recommend for both functionality and ease of installation.
Works as described!! First night in Santa Barbara and just love the effect. It DOES lower the temperature considerably. Highly recommend this addition to our Airstream. I am very impressed and do not add things that are not needed or necessary. The sun shade is something I will never be without.

Really like the product—great quality plus looks and functions as expected. My only input is in the setup guide—the textual directions mention “aligning the snap back with the rivets that are already on the roller bar”, but I would say this is less important than making sure the snap back is on the “trailer side” of the roller under the valence at perhaps the 7 or 8 o’clock position (if straight down were 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock was pointing straight at the side of your camper) The pictures show this better than the description. (Which I noticed later) With my awning fully deployed, my rivets were pointing more or less straight down, and because I installed the snap back a little too close to 6 o’clock, the shade kept popping off the snaps when the wind blew. Frustrating. I eventually remedied this by retracting the awning slightly which rotated the roller and therefore the snaps back toward the 7 or 8 o’clock position, but I think a little more emphasis on the aforementioned detail would have at least helped me.

Very good product and easy to install.
We had issues with a few of the snaps that wouldn't engage despite many futile tries, so we wound up using spring clips across the entire awning; easy to clip up and disassemble. Yes, we do know how the snaps work. Sometimes a few of the snaps looked engaged but in a breeze became unsnapped. Spring clips solved the problem.

Once it’s up & in use, life’s a dream but snapping it in place requires a rubber hammer & a bit of effort. The snaps fit so tightly that simple hand strength is not sufficient & bec of that we are inclined to not use it as frequently as we wld have liked.

Appears to be well made. Installation went quickly with the assitance of another person to help hold the material. We haven't used it yet, but look forward to giving it a try.
Well made and easy to install. I got the 15 footer which is the perfect size for the awning on my 25FB. I wish the shad was a little longer, so that it touched the ground when hanging from the awning. Also wish there were just a couple extra snaps/rivets in the pack. Otherwise great.... and a perfect match for the color of my awning.
