I’m slowly acquiring equipment needed to spend more time boondocking. Since battery development is changing rapidly, I’ve held off waiting for a “better mousetrap.” This unit seems to fit the bill perfectly. While I need at least one additional battery, I purchased the base unit to understand how it works, what loads it can handle and how well it recharges with my existing AirGear solar panels. I spent a weekend at a campground with full hook-up (just in case) and used the Sorein rather than shore power. The base unit wasn’t sufficient to cover the entire weekend, but I was very pleased with how well it charged and how it handled routine electrical use in the camper (Flying Cloud 27’). I pushed it by using the microwave but never attempted the AC. It probably would’ve handled it (with solar unplugged) for about 15-20 minutes. More experiments to follow as I have a boondocking trip next weekend. But, I know it will handle the basics and my panels will recharge adequately. Now I just need another battery.

So far so good. Was testing out the solar recharging with a 350 watt suitcase. Going to test it in the field this weekend while camping.
I have not had a chance to use the Sorein Power Station with my RV it is still cold here in Minnesota, however, I did use it to power my tow vehicle during a recent battery change out. Newer vehicles require a memory saver cable plugged into the OBDII port with 12 volt power when replacing the vehicle's battery, the the Sorein's 12 volt outlet was perfect for this application saving all of the vehicle's settings and keeping the computers powered. The cart, extra battery pack and headend unit was packaged and protected very well, for shipping and arrived quickly. The fit and finish of all the components are top notch and of excellent quality. I look forward to using it this season to power our travel trailer. We also purchased one carrying bag, the quality is excellent. I plan to order a second bag for the battery pack along with the weather cover. The Sorein Power Station is an excellent unit for RVers because of the modularity. We also plan to use the unit for back power for our home, should we lose power. Very happy so far.

UTTERLY AWESOME!! Our jam is dry camping and boondocking. Sorein represents a less-than-$2000 ideal solution to an Airstream-quoted-$4000+ lithium upgrade! We’re unstoppable now! Portable, modular, zero fuel hauling, completely silent, and absolutely no smell, which equals a very, very happy wife who’s sensitive to smell. Zero regrets on this purchase. A fantastic investment that we can keep as a home backup in an emergency or go with us to a new rig down the road. Like I said…UTTERLY AWESOME!!

This unit checks all the boxes for what we wanted in a power station! The portability, the amount of power, the ability to easily expand if we need to later, ample amount of various plug ins including for our 30 amp trailer plug, quick and various ways to recharge including solar and the advantages go on and on! This opens up a plethora of additional possibilities for places we can camp without dependence on shore power. In the off season it’s a power back up in the house. We love having this unit!!

Recently purchased the Sorein Power System (base unit and extra 2.1 kWh battery). I'm in northern Ohio and temperatures are in the single digits. Went to pickup up the Airstream from storage and the lithium batteries weren't putting out enough voltage to run the power jack due to the cold. Plugged in the Sorein unit into the shore power external outlet and had plenty of voltage for the power jack to run. Not an expected use for the Sorein, but glad I have it. Sure beats using the manual crank for the power jack.

The really nice thing is that the modular design of Sorein allowed you to use only what you needed (in this case, the Main Unit) to do the job, so you only had to lift 37 pounds. Happy travels!

We recently purchased the A3 Power Center from the Air Gear Store, and after putting it through real world testing in our Airstream, we can confidently give it 5 Stars! From the ordering process to the performance of the unit itself, everything exceeded our expectations. The Air Gear Store provided excellent customer service and fast shipping and the Sorein arrived ready to go. We were impressed by the power capability. We boondocked for 2 nights and used the Sorein as back up. We used all the appliances we would have used if we were plugged in... the Microwave, fans, and even the drip coffee maker! We left on the 2nd day with full Airstream batteries. One of our favorite ways to use the Sorein is on overnight stops... like at a Harvest Host... we leave the Sorein in the back of the truck and plug the Airstream directly into the Sorein. It is the simplest process to provide overnight power when travelling! The Sorein has given us peace of mind and a cleaner quieter alternative to a generator. I bought the entire package with the solar panels and cart. Have not used the system on a trip yet. Don’t have a trip planned for a couple of months. However, the system was very easy to set up and very intuitive. Seems well built. I charged it and ran some appliances with it and then recharged with the solar panels. Everything worked and was easy set up and tear down of the panels. Going to add another battery and the inverter. When not camping this will be back up for home appliances when we lose power. Very pleased so far.
It’s been great. First trip in two weeks
We are currently in far northern North Dakota for a large Norwegian family reunion. We were asked to bring a portable keyboard and audio system for a worship service outside. While I have two nice Honda generators, the noise/pollution/distance issues caused me to reassess. Up pops Sorein. I was previously aware of it but did not give it serious thought until this trip. The expected usage will be in two days. On our way here from Washington state, I had a bolt failure on my spring bar for the load leveling and we were nowhere near our intended nightly camping spot. We were fortunate to find dry camping spaces behind an inn just off the freeway. My Airstream rv batteries are on their last legs and Sorein was indeed handy to have as it kept us comfortable all night. The next morning y’all received some free advertising because people walking by had never seen them before. It bailed us out in a big way and I’m very glad I made the purchase. Now, for the Sunday morning service this weekend…. Cheers!
I just spent 4 days at the Grand Canyon boondocking with my Airstream and my Sorein 5300 watt system and 3 200 watt portable solar panels. I was able to run my microwave, coffee maker, portable refrigerator and curler and hair dryer with no issues. We were under trees, so I needed to move the panels. I never went below 50% and now I don't to add more batteries or add more solar to the roof. If your concidering upgrading your systems, you can save money with the Sorein system!!!!! I also drive with a 200 watt flexible solar panel over the items, in the back of the truck, continually charge the Sorein system!

Air Gear did the good work of evaluating which power system best meets the RV market’s needs. The modular nature of this system makes it easy to take the first step and purchase an initial capability while retaining the ability to expand as needed. The modular nature also makes hauling the system and setting up more manageable. In the tradition of an Apple product, the set up and use is very intuitive. We are very happy with the product and of course Air Gear is always readily available for any help needed.

I found this battery generator very easy to use, was able to charge with solar and it had plenty of reserve power for all my needs. Also Air Gears customer service is the best I have ever experienced, Yes, Best ever!!!!!!
My wife and I love to camp off-grid. So, I modified our Flying Cloud to have 400W solar on the roof, and 560Ah lithium battery storage. I purchased the 3.2 kWh system to compliment that system. Before a review of the Sorein itself, I want to give 2 thumbs up to the great technical support I have received from the airgear.store team. The first Main Unit that we received was defective. A call to Tech Support received an immediate response, and after several days of back and forth conversations both by phone and email, it was determined that the unit needed to be replaced and airgear immediately sent a new unit. If my math is correct (and please correct me if I am wrong), the 3.2 kWh system is roughly equivalent to one 12V 266 Ah battery. If I had done the math before buying, I may have been less inclined to purchase this system. But, that being said the advantages are HUGE: 1) multiple recharge options (including shore power, DC-DC charging while traveling, and solar) virtually eliminates the need to lug around a heavy, smelly, noisy generator. 2) modular design reduced back strain, and allows us to more option on where to carry it. Unlike a portable generator, which had to be carried in the bed of the truck, we can now opt to distribute the modules in the cab of the truck or even in the Airstream. 3) can also be used as a source of back-up household power when not on the road. 4) with built in soft-start, when we are off-grid, we can plug the AS into the Sorein and have 30A of power to: a) top off the house batteries b) run appliances requiring more than the our AS’s 1000W inverter allows c) run the AC or heat pump for a short period of time—something we absolutely could not do before without being connected to shore power). While testing the Sorein, I did discover a few drawbacks to the system: 1) The pass-thru capabilities of the Sorein do not extend to powering our AS via the 30A outlet of the Sorein. If the Sorein is NOT plugged into Shore power, running the AS from the 30A outlet works flawlessly, But, I could not simultaneously charge the Sorein from Shore power and power the AS off of the Sorein 30A outlet without something in either the Converter or the Fusebox emitting an alarm similar to the carbon-monoxide screech. I think this would be worth further investigation by Tech Support so that it would not be necessary to unplug the Sorein from Shore power before hooking up the AS to avoid the screeching and potential damage to the AS onboard circuitry. Maybe the Sorein Extra Inverter would elieviate the apparent incompatibility of the two systems??? 2) The App is very disappointing and vague: a) I can view the current battery level and how long it will take to recharge or deplete the battery at the current rate of charge and discharge. I can view the battery level on a graph for yesterday, last week or last month, but a view of what has happened since 12:01 am of the current day until the current moment is not available. This view, in my opinion, is would be the most useful. Since Victron can show moment to moment fluctuations of their devices on their App, the EnergyKeeper App surely should be able do the same. b) There is a “page” which shows all of the various inputs and outputs of all modules of the system, but other than providing the current battery percentage of each individual module, it doesn’t do anything. Bottom Line: In spite of certain drawbacks, I agree with Rich that Power Stations are EXTREMELY useful and versatile, both at home and on the road. I am happy to be a Sorein Power Station owner, and am very pleased with the quick and thorough airgear.store tech support I have received.
First use of the Sorein Power System was at Guadalupe Mountains National Park. It was a great success! Could not be easier to set up and use. 100% satisfied and can’t wait to pick up the 200 watt solar panels when we get to San Antonio! Great service as well. The cart arrived with a crack in the handle and Air Gear picked up the handle in Tucson and shipped a replacement cart to my home in NY. 👍👍
